Blackboard Collaborate is becoming a central pillar of QMUs delivery of online learning (for details on Blackboard Collaborate see ‘Real-time online learning goes live‘). Blackboard has been listening to community feedback and after the 26th July the following features will be made available:
Whether you are running breakout group activities, presenting or just want a countdown for the start of your webinar, countdown timer had been a requested feature of Blackboard Collaborate across the community. From the July update, you will be able to add and share a countdown timer to your Blackboard Collaborate session, helping you to keep to your event on track.
Post-captioning for Recordings
Live event captioning is already possible in Blackboard Collaborate, and with an upcoming release of Collaborate, Moderators will also be able to upload Closed-captions for recorded sessions where no Captioner is available.
The Centre for Academic Practice (CAP) continues to work closely with Blackboard and other UK institutions on product features and revisions. If you are interested in using Collaborate or you would like further information, CAP are running a number of live Webinars, registration and details can be found at the link below.
