Abby Shovlin of Edinburgh University will be running two workshops at QMU on 30 August, one for professional services staff and the other for academics. The topic is building student resilience: how to promote wellbeing and resilience, at a time when student mental health issues are on the rise.
Abby works with both staff and students to enhance academic transitions and examples of her recent work include the IAD’s Academic Transitions Toolkit and the 5 Element Induction Model for personalised transitions. The resources that she has developed around student resilience and academic confidence feature as part of the Resilience Toolkit that AMOSSHE (The Resilience Toolkit Student Service Organisation) launched in May 2018.
