Blackboard Collaborate is available to deploy in every Hub area. All you need to run a session is a modern web browser (Google Chrome is recommended for best experience), web camera, mic, speakers and something to say.
At QMU we have been using Collaborate for teaching and learning since February 2018. We established a pilot working group made up of academic and professional services staff from across the university. The pilot allowed us to better understand its use in the context of education and the support required for tutors and learners.
We recently ran a data report on the use of Collaborate at QMU within the last few months and the numbers were surprising. We have already had over 800 users repeatedly accessing Collaborate sessions which now total over 682 hours of engagement.
The Centre for Academic Practice (CAP) is running regular webinars to help familiarise staff, share best practice and discuss embedding Collaborate within a curriculum.
